Post Merry X'mas to my friends; Happy Boxing Day. Keke.. ^_^
Really had a great time this festive season.. Sending and receiving many X'mas greetings via emails, smses and at Friendster.. Giving out and receiving many nice gifts from my friends. Thank you to all my dearest friends. =)
I have received a watch from 25 Hours, Chocz chocolates form my Manager, a bracelet, a pair of earrings, a box of sweets with note pad, Disney cookies, a very cute handphone holder, a nice photo album and Santus' X'mas sock with chocolates from my friends; and of course, not to forget a very special e-card from my lecturer. Thank you, Mrs Chong! ^_^
Got to know a new friend who took the initiative to come and know me on Friendster one month ago. Erm.. I think I am one who will not go around chatting with strangers and accept all as my friends. Will only accept friends of my friends' whom I am close with. Maybe I should put it this way - I choose my friends carefully. Keke.. =)
This friend is Jiaxin - a friend of my friend's, who is currently studying at NUS Chemical Engineering Year 2. I think he is a sincere and easy-going guy who strives hard on his studies, not forgetting to pursuit his interest in Finance. Jiaxin is an intelligent guy who seems to know a lot of topics well. Always see him sleeping late 'cos of his preparation for competitions; monitors online stock game. He has also went for this OCBC Challenge at NTU, but rejected for an interview by CNA. He said he was shy and did not know much, but to me, he was just humble. Emails and smses everyday and Jiaxin always starts to chat with me each time I go online. It all ended up with happy conversations. ;) Glad to chat with him on Finance; his online stock games and competitions etc everyday.
We met up at IMM yesterday as he asked me out two weeks ago. Erm.. Very surprised by how early Jiaxin was - reached at 1.20pm, even though we have planned on 2pm. Always see this friend sleeping late, writing emails to me after midnight and have shared with me on so many areas. I bought a log cake which was higher than my budget and a gift for him, hoping that he can be happy; enjoy this X'mas and having a more memorable birthday. =)
Didn't expect that he has got a gift ready for me - a 25 Hours Watch and a very nice 3D X'mas card. Really exquisite and I was very touched! Really feel bad to have made my friend spent so much on me, especially when he is still schooling and that his family has to fork out money for medical expenses for his mom who has been ill previously. I guess I am a real sentimental person too.. My eyes were a little wet when I stared at the gift Jiaxin has bought for me. I still remember the 1st sentence we chatted online - He told me "I hope to graduate soon, so that my dad can retire." He truly warmed me..
Apart from that, Jiaxin is very close to his mom too - he would shop with her and accompany his mom to her medical appointments. He can think of my migraine when he bought a support pillow. Filial, good-natured, a good listener, sensible, caring, observant etc.. is all I can describe a friend like him. One of my greatest reward for 2006 is to have known a friend like Jiaxin. I believe his parents must be really proud to have a son like him! =D
I have yet to receive such a unique gift from a friend before. Apart from my handphone, I know the watch from Jiaxin will be the one I cherish most. It is actually a white colour watch with a squarish clock-face. I have always wanted a similar watch, or a metallic one. I am surprised how come my friend was able to guess what I like.. Hee.. and what was interesting was Jiaxin wanted to come out with an agenda on what he wanted to say to me yesterday. *Lol* He also asked me which topics I am interested in - Geo, Lit, History, Movies, Artistes, Maths, Science.. He also said he wanted to bring his books along so that he could refer. *Stressed!* Haha! =P
Hmm.. Only managed to shop and chat for two hours plus, 'cos I wanted to go to grandma's place with mom too. (Didn't want to disappoint mom too and I wanted to go visit my grandmother). So we bid each other goodbye. It was an enjoyable afternoon.
Really appreciate what my friend, Jiaxin has done for me. I will always treasure our friendship and his gift. Best of luck to his studies and all competitions, and I believe he will scale to even greater heights! =^.^=
