Our news got in the papers!
The following mail was what sis has written to Kai Li, the reporter of Shin Min Daily News.
Mom was walking along the pavement last Friday, on January 19, outside TradeHub 21, when she saw tens of caterpillars thriving on a small tree.
Last Saturday on the January 26, she saw the same tree again, but now almost half of the branches are bare and are hanging more than 50 caterpillars. The caterpillars have eaten almost all the leaves and are growing bigger and greener. She then decided to report this to Shin Min. That’s why I accompanied my mum to the place this morning and took some pictures. As I have sensitive skin, I felt itchy the moment I stood near the tree. I had goosebumps all over too!
That is the only tree alongside the pavement with so many caterpillars.
What’s scarier is that she also found three centipedes, one big and two small ones on the pavement near the tree.
TradeHub21 is a new office building cum shopping mall, along 8 Boon Lay Way with new pavements and even small trees planted by the side. The trees are still supported by long wooden sticks.
We have never seen so many caterpillars thriving on just a small tree before, hence we would like to share this piece of interesting news together with the pictures to all the Shin Min readers.
To our delight, Kai Li called my sis and exclaimed they were very interested with the news. Without much hesitation, she; together with her colleagues went to the scene to experience for themselves and took some pictures. Yes, our news hit the headline yesterday!
Keke.. We were elated when Kai Li called sis to say that they will publish it.. and coincidently, I saw the lady who sat next to me in the train reading the news when I went to work this morning. I had the same papers with me to show my friends too.. Guess I even had the urge to tell her "Eh, you are reading our news." Haha!! When mom went to see the tree this morning, the leaves have all been eaten up.. Hope you guys don't find the pictures below too disgusting, ok? =P
