Wow.. Can't believe today's the last day of June. 2007 has actually passed for half a year. I will be going for a more challenging job with greater responsibilities, and taking taking an advanced professional course. Mingli said I will be "marrying to SembCorp" and I will sure get along well with my new colleagues. Haha! She is so humourous. ;)
My branch had a breakfast treat yesterday, 'cos the management wanna thanked us for the hard effort we put in our work. Mei Lan jiejie, Wai Fong, Sandy & Raudhah were manning helpdesk. So I quickly ate and wanted to get some food for my colleagues. My hp vibrated in my pocket and I was wondering who that might be, as both of my hands were occupied with plates of food.
The missed call and sms turned out to be from my lecturer. He has got a reminder for forgetting to file Income Tax for YA 2007. So he was asking about some stuff on "My Tax Portal." Was afraid that he might be charged with penalties, as the due date was 15 Apr.
Checked and saw the exact contents of the reminder in softcopy. Emailed him a short while later to ask if the issue was settled.
He thanked me in the mail and said he was not charged with penalties since it was a reminder. I guess he also called our Enforcement division. He added "The officer said I have been a good taxpayer," & "What a compliment! ;)" Haha! (So I replied jokingly, "ahem" "ahem," and stated "Ya, IRAS staff are very nice and polite." I feel that this is quite true.. Haha! But it seems that I was also referring to myself. I was only trying to make my lecturer laugh from my reply lah. Hehe..
We went to Concode room for an hr briefing on charging time and on further increasing service standards. Manager was saying "looks like we are really typical S'poreans" as my colleagues have all reserved seats. All of us started to laugh. After that, when another Manager mentioned about helpline & charging time, one of my senior asked"Will this be published in our website?" We all started to laugh again..
Thank you to DD who bought us two Hershey's chocolates each! Very nice! Hee..
