Thursday's Convocation was great yet memorable! Minister Lim Boon Heng was present for our Degree Conferment and Award Ceremony.. Hee, but I like Prof Margaret Gardner more cos she was very sincere when she delivered in her speech. She is the Vice-Chancellor of RMIT University. =) As graduates from BBAcc, we were the last to go on stage to collect our certs. I guess many waited until they were rather sian.. but it was our turn before we all knew it. Everyone was giving the expression 'Eh, it's our turn already? So fast?" Haha! We were relatively nervous too, even though it was only a few seconds that we would be on stage. =) Before that, I was flashing back in the day when I first went to register for the course, the semesters spent with my friends, when I got sick etc.. Finally, this is the day we have all awaited...
Got to know the gal who sat beside me.. She is Kailin, of the same surname as me, currently working at IRAS Individual Income Tax Division. I told her I was from Corporate Tax Division. Very coincident! We even exchanged our emails, MSN, Friendster and contact number. Will definitely go look for her when I go IRAS next time!
Actually I was reading the Graduands' Handbook on Tuesday night. Had a dream that I was late for the convocation, and I was really very late, until the in-charge told me I had to attend the next session with the graduates from the other courses. Realised there were only 15 people, (Haha, don't know why). When I told this to my friends, they found it so funny. Am glad it was just a dream.. Perhaps I was very tired that night.. Haha!
Oh ya, the guy who came to deliver the sunflowers reached at 12plus. My nine other friends and me was carrying one each. Sis and Kor Kor shared to buy a bear bear specially for me too. Kor Kor even rushed over to attend when he was in a meeting previously. Frankly speaking, I am very touched.. Sis' last annual leave was meant for my convo. Kor Kor searched for the bear bear on Wednesday's night. Even though it was a last-min purchase, it was nevertheless heart-warming to me.. Like to express my heartfelt thanks to Jiejie and Kor Kor! Thank you so much, Jiejie and Kor Kor... :)
Dad couldn't attend cos he has to work. Actually I understand and did not mind at all, but I feel bad/hurt to see him kept apologizing. Attending or not is not too essential, my main concern is that I hope work is not too taxing for him.. Anyway, hope sis graduates soon, then we will be able to go take a family-photo at the studio. I have already paid part of the deposit without our parents' knowledge! Hee.. My friends wanted to go home to sleep after the ceremony. I actually intended to go visit my IRAS colleagues, but couldn't do so, cos I couldn't possibly leave sis to go home too, since she took her last annual leave cos of me. Mom went back first, and I accompanied sis to go watch <<881>>. This is the 2nd time I have watched. Kind of saddening yet touching, my eyes were wet after the show..
Following that, I bought some snacks at JP and headed to big uncle's place to visit Juncong and Shuying. They were so adorable! In fact, Yu Fen Jiejie wanted to bring aunt (whom we all addressed as "Dua Kim"). I told aunt I just came from the theatre watching the show before I came. So coincident.. Wow!!
Juncong and Shuying liked aunt's cooking so much, especially Juncong. The five-year old kid was eating so happily even though it was merely a simple meal. I couldn't stop to praise "Dua Kim" that her fried rice was great! Waited for Guang Chao gege to come fetch his kids back.. He has watched <<881>> last Tuesday and he liked the movie too! He wanted to drive me home, but I didn't want to trouble him. I took 99 home instead.. :D
It was certainly an enjoyable day for me!
Shall display some of my favourite pictures here!
Cheers!
